Question 1

What is grok-imagine-video and what does it do?

Accepted Answer

grok-imagine-video is xAI's image-to-video generation model available on Replicate. It transforms static images — portraits, product photos, illustrations — into short cinematic videos with natively synchronized audio, including background music, sound effects, and lip-sync, all in a single generation pass without post-production editing.

Question 2

How does grok-imagine-video generate audio along with video?

Accepted Answer

grok-imagine-video uses xAI's Aurora autoregressive mixture-of-experts architecture to handle both visual animation and audio synthesis simultaneously. It automatically generates semantically synchronized background music, ambient sound, and sound effects during the same generation pass, eliminating the need for separate audio post-production tools.

Question 3

What types of images work best with grok-imagine-video?

Accepted Answer

grok-imagine-video works well with portraits, product photography, illustrations, artwork, and cartoon-style images. It preserves the original composition, color palette, and artistic style of the source image while applying fluid motion. It also supports 360-degree product rotation, making it especially effective for e-commerce and commercial marketing visuals.

Question 4

Does grok-imagine-video support lip-sync for characters?

Accepted Answer

It can synchronize dialogue and singing animations for character-based content, making it suitable for animated storytelling, virtual presenters, and social media content featuring speaking or singing characters without requiring separate lip-sync software.

Question 5

What is the Aurora architecture used in grok-imagine-video?

Accepted Answer

Aurora is xAI's autoregressive mixture-of-experts architecture that powers grok-imagine-video. It processes visual animation and audio synthesis in a unified generation pipeline, ensuring temporal consistency across frames, preventing flickering and artifacts, and maintaining style fidelity from the source image throughout the generated video.

Question 6

Can grok-imagine-video be used for e-commerce product videos?

Accepted Answer

Yes, grok-imagine-video is well-suited for e-commerce. Its 360-degree product showcase capability animates product photography into scroll-stopping video ads. It preserves product details, colors, and composition while adding motion, making it a practical tool for marketers who need high-quality product videos without a full video production workflow.

Question 7

What output formats and resolutions does grok-imagine-video support?

Accepted Answer

grok-imagine-video offers configurable resolution and aspect ratio settings, allowing users to tailor video dimensions to specific platform requirements such as social media feeds, stories, or product pages.
